Battlefield V: 5v5 Mode has been canceled
Tempo: Sep. 16, 2019Since its launch in November 2018, Battlefield V has been enriched with a Battle Royale mode and additional limited time modes that redefine the multiplayer experience. A long-planned 5v5 competition mode is being developed. But in an information posted, senior game producer Ryan McArthur said the mode was canceled.
Battlefield games have experienced competitive modes in the past. The Battlefield 1 sport-centric intrusion mode was a capture mode of 5 out of 5 control points that included the design of weapons and pre-game deployment vehicles. The raids officially closed last April.
McArthur said the suspension of the competitive mode in Battlefield V reflected a change in the goals of the development team. "The focus on improving the quality of the experience and adding the desired content has led us to move away from our original plans to offer a competitive 5-on-5 mode," he said. "It was a difficult decision not to develop this mode, but it was crucial for us to achieve our goals in terms of debugging and faster content."
The new Battlefield V Origin CD Key content focuses on a mix of story content and additional maps since its launch. The game is currently in a phase of launching cards centered on fronts like Greece, before extending to the Pacific Theater.
McArthur commented on the persistent desire to "build a competitive gaming experience in Battlefield" and mentioned the greatest efforts to develop community tools. However, the form that this could take in the future is not clear.
